After Apple's iPhone launch, it seems touch screen phones are the rage nowadays. Here's another iPhone alternative from LG and Prada, the LG KE850. otherwise known as the LG Prada mobile phone. Yup, you heard it right; the technology and the fashion industry teamed up with this one with reportedly a lot of input from the fashion company.

Here's how Digital Trends describes the LG Prada phone:

Quote:

The phone sports a 2 megapixel camera (with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens), a built-in media player capable of handling music (MP3, AAC, AC+, WMA, and RealAudio) and video (MPEG4, H.263, H.264), along with a document viewing which can display PowerPoint, Word, Excel, PDF, and text documents. The phone sports a 400 by 240 LCD touch screen, and the phone is operated on-screen via a touch screen interface built using Macromedia Flash. The phone also offers Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, microSD storage, and Internet connectivity via mobile data services, rather than Wi-Fi. The whole unit measures just 98.8mm by 54mm by 12mm (3.9 by 2.1 by .47 inches).

So how does this compare with the iPhone? Most techies assert that the iPhone is still the better product since iPhone offers multi-touch screen technology (you can use more than one finger at a time) while the LG KE850 is single touch. The iPhone also supports Wi-Fi connectivity and has a larger display (480 by 320 pixels) not to mention the much-touted accelerometer (which senses the orientation of the phone and adjusts the display accordingly) and proximity sensor (which shuts off the phone if brought close to the ear). The iPhone is also cheaper with an initial price of $499 while the LG Prada phone carries a €600 price tag (about USD $770).
