PinoyTechie.com's AdSense Revenue Sharing Now 70-30!

| | | | | | |

Recognizing that the success of this site really rests on the community members, I've revised the revenue sharing scheme to favor the author of the post 70-30!

This means that for every 10 page views of any PinoyTechie.com post you author, 7 times of those 10 page views would be presented with your Google AdSense ID, and any earnings from the ad clicks generated from those 7 instances is yours.

Here are some guidelines to increase the revenue of your posts.

How to Fix Google AdSense not Showing on Firefox After Update

|

Recently, Google ads stopped appearing on my Firefox browser -- I think it had something to do with updating to Firefox 2.0.0.5, the latest security fix. I could see the ads of my sites and from other sites on my Opera browser but couldn't see them on my updated Firefox browser.

Searching for the solution on Google, I learned that this is a common occurrence after Firefox updates. The solution is to clear the cache of your Firefox browser. Go to Tools>Clear Private Data and choose Cache. Click OK.

Toodledo Free Online Organizer

| | | | |

While searching for Firefox add-ons to automate some of my usual tasks, I came upon the Toodledo add-on and its corresponding service, Toodledo. Toodledo is great; it's the task organizer I have been looking for. I have been using EPIM on my desktop but since I have the free version, I couldn't organize it into folders. With Toodledo, you can do just that.

If you want to automate going to specific web pages every time you open your Firefox browser, the add-on Session Manager might be what you're looking for. Everytime I open Firefox, I open a window for each of my web sites and for my Google Adsense, Gmail and Bloglines acccount.

How to Manage Multiple Gmail Accounts in Firefox Browser

| | |

I use more than one Gmail account -- a personal one, and one for each of my web sites. To save time logging in and out of each of my account, I use the Firefox browser add-on called Gmail Manager.

Once installed, you just add each of your Gmail account, together with the password of course, in the Preferences window. The Gmail Manager now appears in the right portion of the Status Bar. To log into an account, just right click the Gmail Manager and left click on the the account you want to log into.

MyBlogLog Drupal Module Bug Fixed; Site now Loads Faster

| | |

You might have noticed that the site is now loading faster. That's because I found the bug which was causing the slowdown. It was caused by a wrong entry in the MyBlogLog Tracking Server field in the settings of the MyBlogLog Drupal module.

I entered the number '3' when I should have entered the server itself -- 'track3.mybloglog.com. In other words, the PinoyTechie.com site couldn't find MyBlogLog tracking server '3', thus causing the site to stall.

If you haven't downloaded the free SEO for Firefox Add-on from Aaron Wall of SEO Book, then do it now. It's one of the most helpful and useful Firefox tools I have encountered so far.

Domainsbot.com Search Engine Add-on for Firefox

| | | | | |

I recently went to Domainsbot.com to look for a domain name for a new website, and I was pleased upon reaching the home page to see that I was being offered a Search Engine Add-on for Firefox. This made the process of looking for an appropriate domain name for my site easier. I tried to find out where you can directly download the Domainsbot Search Engine Add-on, but couldn't find it -- searched for it in the Domainsbot.com site, and then at the Firefox Add-ons homepage.

How to Duplicate Tabs in Firefox

One of the features that I loved about the Opera browser was the Duplicate Tab feature which came pre-installed with Opera. Looking up ways on how to implement this in Firefox, I discovered two options:

Why I Am Now Using Firefox Instead of Opera (Functionality vs. Speed)

| |

I had been a fan of the Opera browser for quite a time, mainly because of its speed, but I eventually switched to Firefox as my browser of choice. Here are my reasons for doing so:

1. Some of the sites are not fully functional in Opera. An example is the Contacts box in Gmail which does not appear in Opera. I think this is a scripting problem.
